Clifton Clarke, PH.D.
Dr. Clifton R. Clarke was born in England. Dr. Clarke is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God. He has served in the ministry for nearly twenty-five years teaching and pastoring both in Europe and Africa. He has studied in various universities in the UK and currently holds a B.A. (Nottingham University), a M.A. (University of Derby), and a PhD (University of Birmingham). Prior to moving to Ghana, he taught at Nottingham University Department of Theology for five years, while serving at the assistant Pastor of the Church of God in Nottingham, England.
In 1997 Dr. Clarke and his family moved to Ghana, West Africa to serve as a missionary lecturer, where they lived and worked until 2007. He and his family followed God’s lead to the USA in 2008 where he and his wife pastored before Dr. Clarke accepted the position of Professor of Mission and Global Christianity at Regent University, Virginia Beach. He has traveled widely, teaching and preaching throughout Africa, Europe and America and feels strongly that today’s ministers have to be highly equipped and trained. He is the author of a number of books and academic articles, the latest being Called to Serve, and Jesus in African Christianity.
Michael M. Smith
Michael M. Smith was born in Charleston, South Carolina to Elder James Smith, Jr. and Apostle Helen Smith. As he reached the age of ten, his family moved to Huger (hew- gee), South Carolina where his mother began a work that blossomed into Cainhoy Miracle Revival Center, Incorporated. There, Michael served as Minister of Music for eight years. He was the director of the Path of Life Angelic Choir. He also served as an organist for the Gospel Jamboree Family Festival for several years. Michael began preaching the gospel at the age of 15.
In 1983, Michael relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he attended DeVry Institute of Electronics. He also served as Minister of Music and Associate Pastor in the Atlanta area for 15 years. Relocating to Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1999, Michael currently serves as Minister of Worship & Arts (worship pastor) for Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia. At Gethsemane, Michael provides leadership to the music, ushers, parking, hospitality, media, dance, mime and drama ministries. He is also a certified leadership trainer with Leadership Training International, Inc. as well as with Gethsemane’s Foundations Of Faith Leadership Institute. Michael assists his pastor, Dr. Kirk T. Houston, Sr. through preaching, teaching, counseling and serving the needs of a growing congregation.
Michael is an international, touring singer-songwriter. He has released five Gospel music albums that have been well received by the industry and are impacting churches and Christians around the globe. He has traveled several times to western Africa to serve in the foreign mission field. Michael is the founder and president of Hayah RISSE Foundation, Inc., and serves as chairman of the advisory board for Nyame Bekyere Christian School in Ghana. For more than 10 years Michael has served as the choir director for Ebony Impact Gospel Choir at Old Dominion University. Michael is the author of The Frontline Worshipper, a training course for worshippers, worship leaders and ministers.
An ordained minister of the gospel, Reverend Smith is the proud husband of Minister Sharon Smith and father of a beautiful daughter. He is a seasoned teacher and preacher of the Gospel.
He has a wealth of knowledge of the gospel music field. His whole life has been dedicated to serving God and the people of God through the ministry of music, through the preaching and teaching of the Gospel and by any means necessary.
D'lorah Butts-Lucas, ESQ.
Philanthropy & humanitarianism are generosity in all its forms and are often defined as giving gifts of time, talent, and treasure to help make life better for other people. Dr. D'Lorah Butts-Lucas founded Suddenly Joyful Global Missions, Inc. because of her desire to make life better for others. Dr. D'Lorah was licensed as a minister in 2001 and served in various ministry capacities for 16 years. Her focus now is to reach beyond the four walls of the church and spread the love, joy, and hope of Christ around the world to people in distress through advocacy, training, and partnerships in the following key areas: Human Rights, Education, Law, and Poverty. Dr. D'Lorah's experience and education uniquely equip her to carry out this mission.
Dr. D'Lorah has a Bachelor's degree in Human & Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University, Master’s degree in Practical Theology with a focus in Missiology from Regent University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University College of Law. Dr. D'Lorah has been engaged in ministry and missions on four continents and studied abroad in Strasbourg, France in the area of Human Rights & International Law. Dr. D'Lorah is the founding attorney of The Business & Nonprofit Legal Center, PLLC in Daytona Beach, Florida and she owns a business in the telecom and energy industry. Her legal experience includes work in private law firms and the Florida State Court System. She has provided legal counsel and consultation for individuals and organizations in over 25 states. Beyond the practice of law, Dr. D'Lorah's experience includes nonprofit leadership, supervision, human resources administration, and leadership roles in a private company, public school district, and private higher education institution.
Selikplim Gavu -ACII
Selikplim (Seli) Gavu is the Head of Risk and Compliance at Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (Ghana) Limited. She has over a decade of experience in the Life Insurance and Pensions industry in Ghana. Her experience covers governance, risk compliance, crises management, strategy, operations, people and process improvements.
She is a Chartered Insurer and a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK. She also has an MSc in International Management from the University of Essex, England and a BSc. in Business Administration from the University of Ghana Business School.
She is passionate about leadership and empowering others. Over the years she has volunteered her time in helping the youth and vulnerable, mentoring and grooming them to find their purpose in life.
Janella Williams
Ms. Williams grew up in the D.C. and Maryland area until later transitioning to Norfolk, Virginia to attend Norfolk State University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications & Journalism. After graduating, she decided to continue her residency in Virginia. Later attending the Mt. Carmel Missions School of Evangelism, graduating in 2002. In 2007, she obtained her Master’s in Business Administration from Averett University. She obtained a second Master’s in Ministerial Leadership in Biblical Studies from Regent University. While attending Regent University she found her love for global missions. In her continuance to helping people, she opened up her own life insurance agency called Life Legacy Solutions in 2020.
Joanne Clarke Gordon
Joanne Clarke Gordon, International Coach, Facilitator and Speaker, born in England, UK, is committed to contributing to the reduction of the gender and ethnicity pay gap. She does this by supporting those impacted to develop the courage and confidence that will empower them to become the driving force behind their earning potential and works with organisations and small businesses to further their Diversity & Inclusion Strategies to create an environment that fosters a sense of belonging.
An advocate for justice, equity and inclusivity, Joanne, more popularly known as JJ, The Confidence Coach, is the CEO of Ability Business Group, a coaching & training consultancy, Founder of We Excel CIC, a non-profit organisation and mentoring platform for Black youth, and Founder of The Confidence Queens Academy, a popular women's community and training platform. www.thecqacademy.com
JJ says “My mission is to support as many people as possible have courageous conversations and to develop a deeper understanding of vulnerability and empathy, which I believe will change the world for the better".
One of her specialisms is working with women to develop sustainable self-confidence to overcome the barriers and obstacles in their lives that prevent them from reaching their potential so they can be courageous, and step into the most confident versions of themselves. To be proud of who they are and fairly compensated for what they do, regardless of colour, ethnicity, or background.
